It is NIS. I have been having this problem for months. I can get online but
then will be knocked off. I HATE NIS. Get rid of it.

i also just did a live update via norton firewall 2005 and now i cannot
access the internet unless i shut off the firewall.

I had to put Microsoft firewall back on to be protected.
Does anyone know of a site on norton that fixes this?

I am running xp pro sp2

It seems to have only happened on xp because we have it on win2000 with no
proboems
