Hello,

Well I just put my computer together and I set the bios no
prob. then I boot from the CDROM windows starts to load
all the drivers and when it says that its going to start
windows setup it crashes and gives me some big error but
all I can remember is IRQ_L error. Also I did read
something about the raid cable could not be sopported but
I put A regular one and that didn't work.

Thanks for any help.

Without the actual text of the error message it is difficult to
suggest a possible cure.

See http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm for some suggestions regarding the
information you should include when requesting assistance.

Good luck

You have an IRQ conflict between hardware pieces which is common with home
builds. But it is easy to fix by
removing all of the hardware piece but the video card from the mobo. Even
disable on board lan and sound if you have it.

Now with a bare machine install XP and after it is running enable the
onboard stuff and one by one insert the adapter cards again.

When you get to the culprit place it into a different slot.

Just remember that some pieces of hardware will give you grief if they share
IRQ like sound and lan cards. Just check you mobo manual and see which pci
slots share IRQ's and keep these cards separate.

Thank you for your apparent interest in the position of "newsgroup
kook". While your application is certainly impressive, I regret that
at this time, we currently do not have any more openings for kooks
and/or trolls in this newsgroup.

We will keep your application on file, in the event that we should
require someone with your particular abilities. Thank you for
expressing interest in this newsgroup. We will contact you if an
opening for this position comes up.
