View Full Version : Can't view some web sites in IE6, WinXP Pro SP2, shows source

I've got a screwy little problem in IE 6 (Windows XP Pro SP2). When I
attempt to go to some sites, I get nothing but HTML source code on the
screen. Other identical systems work fine, but not this one. I thought
it might have been a glitch with Norton Internet Security 2005 (a major
PITA which I have uninstalled), but it still happens.

One of the main sites that is always doing this is
http://support.microsoft.com so I can't even go into the MS Knowledge
Base to search for a solution -- even if I could think of a logical set
of words/phrases to search!

I'm hoping I don't have to do a complete reinstall of Windows XP Pro but
if that's the only solution.... Any and all ideas welcome. Thanks in
advance.

Your "Tip #3" is entitled "Internet Explorer won't find any
pages ("Cannot find server" error)," a very different symptom
from the one he describes.

It still applies. But thanks for pointing out the obvious.
