I currently have SP1 with no repair or reinstallation disk of XP Pro of any
kind, but do have XP Pro disk with SP2. Can I use the XP/SP2 disk to repair
my version of Windows with SP1? Thank you.

Probably not, you'll need to have SP2 installed for repairs.

If your disk is uniquely the SP2 Upgrade component and not a full XP SP2
installation disk, then it cannot be used to repair XP or XP with SP1.

It can upgrade your XP + SP1, however if there are any errors with your
current installation, the upgrade to SP2 may not fix it. You will need the
full installation [or XP upgrade] disk to perform the repair installation now
or at any time in the future.

Your best solution would be to buy the full installation CD of XP SP2 release.

You should be able to use it for a repair reinstall, when it will
upgrade to SP2
