Hi,

The $NtUninstallQxxxxxx$ folders are for uninstalling any hotfixes from
Windows Update (this applies only to hotfixes that are uninstallable).
Should you not wish to uninstall any hotfix, then you may safely remove the
folder. Afterwards, go to Add & Remove in the Control Panel, select the
hotfix for removal. You will get an error message followed by an offer to
remove the listing.

I generally leave the uninstall files in place for 30-45 days following
installation of the hotfix. If no issues arise, then I delete them.

Hi, Rick

Thanks for help.
I didn't install windows update like SP1 on my XP Pro. Do I need to install
SP1? Because up to now I have no problems at all to use the machine( so
stable I think the best of MS OS). I have no risk in security to browse in
internet and other download softwares. I have check my Add & Remove there
has a lot of windows XP hotfix (SP1) existed but size all in blank (possible
due to no installation of SP1, Is SP1 is the newest version?). My question
now is do I need to install SP1 or I just delete above-mentioned folders are
OK??

Thanks for your input again

Regards
Larry Liao

Hi,

There is more to SP1 than just the previously released hotfixes. I would
suggest that you consider installing it. Also, by doing so, it will remove
all the uninstall folders for previously released hotfixes.
