I'm having a problem where if I'm working on the computer, all of a
sudden it starts to slag and slow and I look and the hard drive is
churning away and the computer will not type anymore until the drive
stops churning. This can happen in a simple word processor.

I have a Pent 4 3/4 gh with 2 gig RAM so plenty of system.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? ALso, it doesn't happen
everyday. Somedays it doesn't do it?

Run the defrag system tool. It's probably doing background defrag duties.
