Hi all,

We have an ActiveX control that is download to a browser client using a
signed CAB file. However, the control itself is not signed.
Everything works fine in Windows 2000, XP, etc.
But this does not seem to work on Windows XP SP2.
Does anyone know of changes made around this area in SP2?
Thanks a lot,
Charles Gamble.

In SP2 the fire wall is turned on by default. I think ActiveX files are
prevented from running.

SP2 in the interests of security has restricted Active X in the default
Internet Zone settings of Internet Options - Security. You *can*
adjust Custom settings to allow it, but that removes a great deal of
security against malicious sites. Best really to get your control
signed
