View Full Version : Before Installing Windows SP2

This is to inform all readers of my experience with installing SP2 on my
Compaq computer. If the SP2 installation instructions included accomplishing
the below action I missed it. If not, Microsoft erred in not notifiying us of
the possible requirement.

After experiencing several difficulities with SP2, especially with
Macromedia, I finally uninstalled the service pack and went to the
manufacturers site in the course of troubleshooting. There I found a lenghty
list of things that must be done to my computer before installing SP2. I
completed the requirements, reinstalled SP2 and everything works fine. Hope
this helps.

see the steps.

It wasn't Microsoft's error, it was yours for not checking with Compaq
in the first place. Compaq machines are proprietary.
