When clicking on save or restore to activiate the external HD, software
disappears. According to Article 885464
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;885464
There is a hotfix. Call "contact Microsoft Product Support Services to
obtain the hotfix". Expensive!!!!!!
Can I get the hotfix here?

Are they likely to charge me for this hotfix created by SP2?

>=20

Here is the blurb on the web-site...
"Note: In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for =
support calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional =
determines that a specific update will resolve your problem. The usual =
support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that =
do not qualify for the specific update in question."
It's a little vague. This could mean that if you've mistakenly assumed =
that this fix applies to your problem, then you could be charged. Their =
explanation could also mean that as long as your calling about this =
problem, mistakenly or not, then any charges will be waived.

There is never a charge for a hotfix provided you don't mention anything
else other than that. Read the whole article and call MS for it.
That's the only way to get it.
