I'm running Windows XP Professional. When I first got the system I was able
to see my Linksys router show up under "Explorer \ My Network Places" and
under "Control Panel\Network Connections", the "Internet Connection" status
was always "enabled". It's been a few months since and now the IC status
always reads "disabled" regardless of what I try to do. I have the Gateway
Device Discovery/Control and UPnP Control client programs installed on my
system. My Windows Messenger video conferencing always worked and now it
doesn't and seems to correspond with these other recent changes. I've
installed so many Windows XP updates from Microsoft, so I'm not sure if any
of those purposely disabled this functionality, but the result I believe is
now preventing me from video conferencing!

Does anyone know why I don't get the router showing up in Explorer and why
Internet Connection reads disabled?
