Greetings,
I am using:
Windows 2000 Server
Windows 2000 Exchange
Windows XP Professional
Windows Messenger v5
I am trying to connect to the exchange im server. I am able to connect
without problems if the user is a member of the Administrator group (even
indirectly).
I enter the user name in the Tools | Options dialog box on the Accounts tab.
I use the same format as the successful logins. I refer to the Active
Directory entry for the login name.
When I try to login, I am presented with a dialog box asking for E-Mail,
User Name, Password, Domain.
I fill in the information.
This is successful for the accounts of users belonging to the Administrator
group. For the other user accounts I am getting an error message:
Windows Messenger
Signing in to Microsoft Exchange Instant Messaging failed because the
password is incorrect or the sign-in name does not exist.
All the accounts have Windows Messenger activated in the Active Directory.
Could this be a permissions problem? If so, where do I need to apply the
proper permissions? Does anyone have another idea of where the problem
might be?
Thanks for your time and help.
