View Full Version : Deletimg Critical Updates folders after SP2

It is my understanding that all of the critical updates that I installed
prior to SP2 are included in SP2 and are therefore now obsolete after I
installed SP2. If that is correct I should be able to delete the
$Ntuninstallxxxxxx (blue) folders that exist in my Windows folders that
correspond to these "ancient" updates. Is this correct? The updates no
longer are listed in Add/Remove Programs. Just the post-SP2 ones.
If this is correct then I assume it is not necessary to save the old
downloads (on CD-RW) either?

Hi,

As long as you have no intention of reverting to a pre-SP2 installation, yes
they are safe to delete.
