Service Pack 2 launched a whole list of problems on my brand new computer. I
got most of them sorted out but for the life of me i couldnt get any media to
play without being choppy. I checked for spyware and viruses.... didnt fix
anything. went thru all the troubleshooting stages and it still wouldnt work.
so i finally uninstalled service pack 2 from ad/removei programs... and now
xp wont boot. i get the little windows logo and then it just goes straight to
a blue screen and gives me an error. wont boot in safe mode either. this is
breaking my heart.

What exactly happens when you try to boot up in safe mode?
What's the blue screen? (top line)

RE media /choppiness - you probably just needed to get updated device
drivers from the hardware manufacturer, and so forth.

Did you make good backups of all your data before installing SP2? This is a
must - and you should also do regular data backups, of course.

my drivers were updated. i even tried rolling back drivers. most of my stuff
is backed up but its on my school network.... if i'm gonna have to format it
i'll have to give it to them cuz they'll have to load their crap onto it.
the blue screen says fatal system error... and that the system has been shut
down.
