printer stopped working in windows

had a photosmart p100 several years old....was all working fine then all of a
sudden, nothing...ok I go buy a brand new printer. It's all hooked up,
drivers installed but still nothing....i get the cannot print document error.
I have two computers....hooked it up to other computer....same os
etc....works fine. It seems as tho windows is having the problem. I have been
all through the troubleshooter with no success. Any one have some ideas/

Disconnect the printer from the PC, follow Bruce Sanderson's instructions
at:
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

Download updated drivers from HP's website, install the software and do not
connect the printer to the PC until the software tells you to do so.
