Hi all,
I work in a computer repair business and just recently We have noticed
a problem with WinXP. It seems to be with the Home edition as well as
Pro editions.
We are no longer seeing the messenger when XP is installed and when we
go to open outlook express ... it just hangs a while and sometimes it
opens and sometimes it doesn't.
Also when we shut down or reboot the computer(s) we get a message the
msg.exe is shutting down.... it hangs and then finally we have to
click on *end now* or the computers will not shut down.
What is going on?
I cannot find a reason for this in the knowlege base. I found one
article about messenger not starting... it did not solve the issue(s)
It seems to effect outlook express and norton antivirus the most.
Outlook will open right up. And it seems to be happening only on
newly installed computers... the ones at the shop that have been
running a while do not have this issue.
