View Full Version : Confused about Windows Messenger and MSN Messanger!

Greetings folks,
My wife is a Medical Transcriptionist and works from
home. The new company she has joined uses Windows
Messanger for communication between members. I tried to
download the software, but it is only for Windows XP! We
still use the good old win98se, since it has worked so
well for us, and I know enough about it to get her out of
any Jam!
Is there a version of this program for win98 or win2k? If
not, does MSN Messanger work with Windows Messanger, or do
I have to upgrade her operating system to XP? I have
years of experience with computers, but I have never used
any messanger programs. So any help/advice will be
greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Yahya

Greetings Yahya,
Are they just using the public .NET Messenger network (Passports) to connect? If so, she can
use MSN Messenger instead and she'll be able to communicate to the other members using
Windows Messenger as they do use the same network (although video won't work, audio and text
will). You can find MSN Messenger here:
