HI All,
I have Windows Messenger 5.0 and it is very slow under a specific
circumstance. I use the Exchange Messenging service to connect
securely to other users at work. When I am at work it works fine.
When I am home and my laptop is directly connected to my cable modem
it works fine. However, when I connect through my Dell 2300 wireless
broadband router it is very slow. All other internet applications
work fine, Outlook, IE, etc... it is just microsoft messenger that is
slow. Has anyone else run into this?
thanks in advance for any help,
Leo

Greetings Leo,
Can you be more specific about what exactly is being "slow" -- slow to receive messages, slow
application performance .. or?

HI Jonathan,
Sorry for the slow reply. I haven't worked from home in a while and
put this on the back burner. What happens is this: I launch Windows
Messenger and click the "Click here to sign in" link. It logs in
quickly but takes 5 - 10 minutes to display my contacts. Once I see
the contacts I can double click a contact and it will take a couple
minutes before I can type and send a messages. Once an initial
message is sent, it will take a couple minutes before I can type
anything else.,
thanks,
Leo
