Can Install Windows Updates

Hello,

My computer crashed last week and I had to install a new
hard drive. This was covered under warranty and the store
I bought it in reinstalled WINDOWS XP and all the
critical updates.

However, they did not update other recommended updates
and driver updates. When I try to do so I see that the
updates are being downloaded but they will not install on
the computer.

What could be causing this? and how do I fix this? Any
ideas.

Any advice would be appreciated.
