Running XP Home, SP2, Have never had audio. (Purchased with SP2 installed).
Onboard Audio bios enabled, Realtec AC97 driver enabled; up to date,
indicates working with no problems or conflicts. All volume controls on,
FINALLY was able to get Volume Control program working, no mutes throughout.
Only thing I'm not sure of is that in master volume control, the PC speaker
"balance" is grayed out, the volume shows fine. (Cause I have integrated
speakers on Flat Panel monitor?) I've tried everything in PC Doctor and all
the other newsgroup audio questions I could find (which is what got me this
far!) But still no audio. I'm smart enough to know that there's a bunch I
don't know! What have I missed?

Thanks, Sharron
