(I posted the same question in the XP General newsgroup)...
My system (XP Home SP2) recently stopped creating thumbnails for new mpeg2
files (created from Adobe Premiere 6.5). I can see the thumbnails for older
mpeg2 files, and thumbnails are created OK for other video files (avi, mpeg1
etc).
After deleting thumbs.db from my mpeg2 video folder, (with "Do not cache
thumbnails" unchecked), the file is not recreated as expected, while the CPU
and read/write I/O of the explorer process goes thru the roof. If I add a
jpeg picture in the folder, thumbs.db is created but only caches the jpeg
file.
I've seen a number of postings complaining about the same issue, but none
seemed to have a solution. Any ideas?
