When I boot up I get 2 choices, to start from windows xp
os and the other one says the same thing but only one
works. This message never showed up before I reformatted.
What's wrong?

Go to Start > Run and type: MSCONFIG , and hit enter.
Click on the BOOT.INI tab and then click on "Check All Boot Paths"
to delete invalid boot paths.

ok I did that, but then when I restarted I saw my desktop
and then a little window came up saying that I booted up
from some other mode and that that message will come up
every time I turn my computer on, and it told me how to
change it. what do I do now? I'm kind of confused.

When you see the little window again, place a checkmark in the
lower let corner so you do not see the message window again.
