I have a single computer running XP Home SP2. There are only 2 users: myself
(admnistrator) and my wife (limited user). There are 2 printers connected to
the computer: an HP Photo Printer via direct USB and an HP LaserJet 3330
all-in one. The Photo printer works fine for both users.

The problem is the LaserJet. It is connected as a network printer to a
Linksys router. The router provides internet access for both users (without
problem) and connects to an external HP print server (en3700) to the LaserJet
via USB cable. This configuration is required because the LaserJet is on the
opposite side of the room.

When I am logged on, I can print to the LaserJet without problem. When my
wife is logged on, she can select the LaserJet and it sends the documents to
the queue (the printer icon is in the system tray) but they are never
forwarded to the printer. It stays in the queue until it times out and then
it notes that the "document failed to print."

The LaserJet printer is setup as a shared printer, the IP address for the
printer is in the trusted zone for the windows firewall and the Norton
firewall. The 'workstation' and 'server' services are both started. My wife
successfully pings the LaserJet. It will not print from Office apps, Notepad
or the command prompt. I even changed her account type to an administrator
and it still did not print (with the possibility that limited users can't
print to a network printer).

Basically, when she is logged on, she can find and select the printer and
the documents go to the queue but just don't print.

What am I missing? Thanks for any suggestions.
