OFFICE XP (Hangs when I select File/Open)

When I select file/open and click the down arrow, the
application hangs.

I am running XP PRO and Office XP with ALL service packs
installed for OS and Suite. This problem has only started
happening in the last two days. I have no viruses on my
machine.

I also notice that when I go to MY computer it hangs also,
but only after I first attempt to open files in any offcie
application.
