A similar question...
Is the 5 1/4 still supported by XP???
I can read and write to it, but when I try to format it, I do not have a
size option...
(I had some old disks I was checking.....)

Just a question,
In Windows 98se and previous versions, when formatting floppies, you could
format without user intervention.
Example:
format a: /autotest

Do they have anything like it in XP?

See MicroSoft Knowledge Base:
Floppy Disk Formats That Are Supported in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;309623
And you will see the only floppy size that can be formatted in XP is the
1.44 MB 3.5" one.
