Stats: Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop, WinXP Pro OEM; backup
medium = modular 20 GB HD that fits into the modular
drive bay.
Background:
I'd never heard of a backup system that lets me restore
only either all or none. I've always been able to
selectively restore the files I want. I am new to WinXP
Pro, and it looks as if *its* backup function does not
allow selective restoring. I reformatted my HD and
reinstalled WinXP Pro, not I am ready to restore my
files. But I do not want to restore the whole HD content;
that's why I reformatted! -
Question #1: Is a selective restore available in WinXP
Pro's backup function?
Question #2: If not, can I just drag & drop my C: drive
onto my backup medium (modular 20 GB HD in modular drive
bay) and thus get a backup that lets me restore
selectively?
