My new computer cannot get streaming media on windows player, real player, or
quicktime. My ISP is Yahoo/SBC and they think it maybe the fault of SP2. My
older windows 98 based PC has no plblem streaming vidieo from the same ISP.
any thoughts or suggestions for a fix?

It sounds like you either have the popups blocked (since this would
require opening another browser window) or these applications are being
blocked by a firewall. Do you have a third-party firewall installed?
Service Pack 2 automatically enables the Windows Firewall. If you are
using a third-party firewall, then turn the Windows Firewall off. You
don't want two firewalls running, and a third-party program will be
better than the WF. Check your Internet security settings.
None of the XP Pro SP2 computers here have any problem getting streaming
media from any of the programs you mentioned and I didn't do anything
particular to enable them, either. The SBC/Yahoo tech support person
was ignorant and gave you bad advice.
