Error installing XP SP2

I'm trying to install SP 2 on an EMachine T2825 and am getting the error:
"the system cannot find the file specified." This happens after the files
are extracted in the initial stage of the install. When I click ok the next
setup error message says "installation did not complete." Anyone
experiencing this that has been able to figure it out?

I've looked on google and have found a couple references to repairing XP
which brings up my next question, can I use a XP pro disk to repair a XP
home version? It's for a friend that only has the restore disks and all I
have is XP Pro.

You can use the recovery console feature of the XP Pro disk but not the
repair installation.
