This is only one problem: The speed negotiation starts at 14400, ends at
2400, then most of the time, I get a receive failure. XP Pro.
I can send a fax fine and usually connect at 14400 to 9600 to my office fax.
Also,
I understand that XP does not support distinctive ringing, but I can't see
where a ring pattern has anything to do with the fax tones present when fax
software like Phone Tools or XP's fax monnitor displays the call, but will
not receive a fax unless I let the modem answer.
Our 'real' fax machine would seize the line if when a call is answered,
there were fax tones present.
Bottom line here is that I don't want to print all faxes with the $$$$ ink
jet all-in-one, and want a PCI fax modem to answer the faxes then I can chose
which ones and print on a laser ptr.
