I recently installed an external hard drive case by Iogear
and put a new WD 120GB hard drive in it. I formatted and
partioned it into 3 partitions and some free space. When
I tried to cut and paste the directory and subdirectories
of my MP3 collection onto one of the new partitions it
said that program or drive (I cannot remember which) does
not support long file names. It offered to change my file
names and like an idiot I said OK. Now my MP3s have new
file names. I am in the process of renaming them and
sometimes it will let me do it and sometimes it won't. It
has done it with large directories and individual file
names. Can anyone tell me what is going on? And, why is
the problem intermittent. Thanks, Bill
