how often does a windows xp computer require a reboot if
left on all the time? How would you schedule it?

Can you schedule it on the tast scheduler? using a syntax?

In theory, never needs a reboot until you install or update something.
However technology being what it is, go from experience. I.E. Try once a
week. If problems twice a week etc.
