I have tried on two ocassions to download Windows SP2 and when I do, I loose
my user identity on Outlook Express. When I try to sign on to my email, it
isn't recognizing my ID and I lose all my previous emails. I have had to do
a system restore to get my email back. I called Microsoft and they advised
me to wait a while for a fix to be put in place. Has this been done? I want
to download the SP2 but I can't afford to lose my emails.

It would be best to make a backup of your drive before
installing SP2 just for reasons like your stating.
However, try this... open windows explorer and navagate
to C:\Documents and Setting\User Name\Local
Settings\Application Data\Identities\A long list of
letters and numbers here\Microsoft\Outlook Express.

In this folder is all your e-mail. Copy all of the files
to another drive or CD-R/RW. After you install SP2, copy
all of the files back to that directory, just overwrite
the ones in there. Hopefully that will work for you. But
as always, it would be best to make a clone of your drive
first.
