View Full Version : Printing and printer queue problems

Earlier today I printed 2 pages, both printed and came out fine but the
printer still wanted to print more. I only sent 2 pages to print so I looked
in the print queue and saw "3/2" under the "Pages" column. The first number
(3 in this case) is supposed to be the number of pages that have printed and
the second number (2 in this case) is supposed to be the total number of
pages in the document, right? Why does it say 3 when I only sent 2 pages to
print and there was only 2 pages in the document?

After I had finished printing and then tried to clear the document from the
queue by canceling it, it remained for a long time and wouldn't clear/cancel
the document right away. Is this normal?

I shut off my printer with the document still in the queue but it would turn
back on by itself and flash its lights. Is there any way that I could change
the settings to prevent this from happening? I don't want my printer turning
on when I don't manually do so myself.

I've been having problems on and off like this since I bought this printer a
few months ago.

I have a HP Deskjet 5740 printer and am running Windows XP Home Edition.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
