View Full Version : How to uninstall a half installed Messenger 5.1

I tried to install Messenger 5.1 on top of 5.0. Everytime it gives a
'network' error and refuses to complete the installation.

Since the installation isn't complete, I can't uninstall 5.1 but I can't
install 5.0 for it asks to uninstall 5.1.

The repair function in 5.1 (only option, uninstall isn't possible) continues
to give a 'network' error while attempting to read from the file
messenger.msi. Removing it from the harddisk and trying to install it
directly from Microsoft's website results in the same problem.

How to fix it ...either that 5.1 works or that I can roll back to 5.0.

Greetings Steve,

Try clicking Start, then Run, and running this:
msiexec /x {C3A6819F-62D3-4750-AF1C-28206DDF2C2E}
then click OK.
