View Full Version : Upgrade 98SE to XP w/SP2

Tried to upgrade from 98SE > ran upgrade advisor first, found no issues that
would prevent process, however
it said modem might need new files, and the same with the audio driver. I
uninstalled both to play it safe > Disabled
anti-virus bootup scanner > copied I386 folder to the C: drive and ran
install from there > after XP copies some files
then finally wants to reboot, goes to a black screen that reads, "Windows
Setup" press F6 to install SCSI and...
I don't need to install these drivers so I do nothing, this messages
disappears, and setup goes no further

My system is AMD 900mhz with 512MB

Press F7 at that prompt, to install the ACPI for a "Standard PC. (This will happen automatically on the press of F7, then) You do
not have the hardware for the 'standby' features, (or your "S3" settings in the BIOS are not yet enabled.
