A fresh install of WinXP takes about 1.5GB. With
programs, you'll could easily be around 2GB. Nothing to
worry about.

Hi, usually the SP1 installation take up around 350mbs after being
installed, by creating a folder called i386, however you may have selected
to backup your files and that may be causing the increase in space SP1 has
taken up. If you have done, and if your system is working fine, try it over
a couple of weeks first, remove the backup files through add/remove and see
if that increases your HD space....
