no connection

Hi!
I have a similar problem as some before...
I can't establish connection for a voice
conversation...well,most of the times.. I also tryed
skype, same story there, it rarely works...
I have a girlfriend studying in the States and I'm from
Europe, so it's important for me to find some kind of a
solution.. Funny, the last semester messenger worked ok,
sure we had to try several times before the connection
was established, but now it almost never is. It I must
mention that our computers haven't changed a bit,
software, hardware, everything is the same.. Yeah my
girlfriend has a router, but she also had it the last
semester. My guess is the lines are getting jammed and
it's only the times when not so many users are online,
that we can get through..
I'm pretty desperate by now, i really hope you'll be able
to help me.
