No - You've sacrificed performance for a convoluted set of Services that
consume upwards of 40 Megabytes of your memory. Sorry to phrase it
in such a "Acerbic" way, but Symantec software is no longer in my opinion
a viable choice. It's expensive, bloated - a PITA to maintain and God help
you if you ever need to upgrade or renew a subscription.
Take a bit of personal advice, get your money back and get software that
is less resource intensive, cheaper and easier to deal with.
I used to use/recommend it - but no longer. Just yesterday, I was involved
in what has to be the 28th of so session of trying to get the 2005 version
to
work for a customer.

On start up or later? An anti-virus scan is usually initiated on start
up and this will slow the boot process. Have you run Disk Defragmenter?

Hope this helps.
