After installing SP2, I'm missing my network card and my firewire card, the
ieee 1394 card doesn't respond anymore. The nic is a Belkin card with one of
those realtek chips you find on almost all cheap cards (8139 I think), the
firewire card has no brand and sports a VIA chip (which is marked L1582V). I
tried putting them in different slots which didn't help, funny thing is
though that the nic is still working (probably was in use when SP2 tried to
disable it). I removed SP2 in safe mode, but I still have the same problem.
I know SP2 doesn't all the hardware pre-SP2 XP Pro does, but after removing
I thought I would be able to enable them again (get them to show up in
device manager etc.)

Any help would be appreciated,

Devices not detected by Device Manager (including as an 'unknown' device) have some physical or BIOS problem. If simply 'unknown',
use the Action menu to 'uninstall' and restart windows.
