I am having problems with Windows XP auto update. I have
my computer set to automatically notify me when there is
an update available. I then click to download, and then
click to install. The problem is that the same required
update appears the next day when I turn on my computer.
For example, I have received a notice that "Critical
Windows Update 814033" is available to download. I have
downloaded it and installed it at least 7 times and each
day I turn on my computer, it's as if I never installed
it. This is not the first update that this has happened
with. I would say the problem began about 6 months ago. I
suspect that I need to do some registry maintenance, but
I don't know how to do it and I can't find anything in
the knowledge base about it. Help. Thanks.
