View Full Version : Deleting the backup done when service pack 1 is installed?

How do I delete this backup, when I select sp1 in add remove it wants to
remove the service pack , how do I remove the backup of xp made when the
service pack was applied?

Hi Aussie,
Open WindowsExplorer to C:\Windows, look for $NtServicePackUninstall$ and
delete it. If you cannot see it, go to tools/folder options/view tab and
enable the viewing of hidden and system files. Then go back to Add & Remove
and select the Service Pack for removal. You will get an error message and
an option to remove it from the listings.
