I use a dos based spreadsheet named SuperCalc.

I bought a HP pavilion ze 4230 a month ago

The hp pavilion will not load dos high in expanded memory
through Himem.sys. I have tried right clicking on the
supercalc icon and setting the memory tab to as much
extended memeory that is allowed. I only get 39 bits of
memory for spreadsheets. My other computers will give
14K plus of memeory. It works in all my other computers
that have windows 2000 and xp but it will not work with
the hp. I have tried to set some of the swiches in
himem.sys but have not found the correct combination.

Does anyone out there now of a solution to this problem.

I suspect it has something to do with hps bios, or the
way the hp uses conventional memory for the vidio drivers.

There is no himem.sys in Windows XP.

Just exactly where and how are you entering these settings?
