I have Windows XP Pro on a Pentium4 1.8 with 512 RAM. If
I hit ctrl+alt+del, nothing happens. When I right-click
on the task bar, and choose Task Manager, nothing happens.
I've read SEVERAL posts about people who need to double-
click the title bar of the task manager, but I don't even
get the task manager at all. Can anyone help?
Thanks!

Go to Start>Run Type: sfc /scannow Have your WinXP CD in the cd-rom
drive. This might repair the Task Manager.

In addition to Rich's suggestion, I have heard of several viruses that
effectively "disable" task manager. They either do this by modifying the
executable, or editing your file types. If the SFC doesn't help, then I
would definately look into performing a virus scan.
