Windows updates fail to instsall

I have the same problem. When going to windows update I
see I need
critical updates but after it appears to be loading it
reports that the
load has failed. Have you done a system restore? I did
once and ever
since the updates have not worked.

I still do not know why. I am searching the ms data base
for an answer.
