I tried installing SP@ back in August of last year and I lost my desktop and
couldn't do anything so I used my recover disk to get my system back to
normal. But as of right now I don't have SP2 installed. If I try to install
SP2 again, will The same thing happen or will it install correctly. I'm
hoping Micrsoft has corrected the problems with the update that I had last
time.

Before installing SP2, did you get secure your pc was cleanned of =

SP-2 is identical as originally released and will be the same in a year from
now.
You need to make sure your computer is ready for SP-2 to help prevent
problems:
