Hi all,
I have a 2003 server acting as a printer server and have several printers
setup.
My question is:
In the past, I just connected workstations to printer server, but now that I
have Windows XP workstations that requires me to setup each user's printer
unless I create a local tcpip port to that printer. This allows anyone using
that workstation to auto get that printer. But, it creates a massive listing
when searching for printers.
What is the best practice to setup printers?
Example: I want all users of the workstation to get the same printer
without having to install it under each users name. (We have alot of users
sharing workstations.)
What are the pros and cons of the tcpip port verses using the 2003 server as
a print server?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Sher
