Cannot end process on CSRSS, LSASS & SMSS

I believe I have a W32 virus that has infected my system.
According to Symantec, I need to stop the processes
CSRSS, LSASS and SMSS before attempting to scan for
viruses. However, everything I try to End Process on
these three, I get a message in the "Unable to Terminate
Process" window. It reads "This is a critical process.
Task Manager cannot end this process."

Anyone know why I can't end these processes and how I can
end these processes?

That is normal. Those processes cannot be stopped. How do you know you have
a virus?? What indication?
