My dad has this problem.
The computer did an automatic update earlier today. The computer said it
needed to restart . Selected restart and left. When he arrived back home
Spysweeper had not shutdown and gave the "End now" window. Selected end now
and waited. The computer froze. Turned off the computer using the power
switch. Now the computer will not boot. The power light comes on and it
looks like it tries to cycle the drives. Nothing. He tried putting a disk
in the 3.5, cd, & dvd drives and it does not give any errors. Nothing comes
up on the monitor. He can't even get to safe mode. I am at a loss. Any
help or ideas would be appreciated!!!

If you do not see the bios detecting drive etc then its not windows because
its not got as far as booting the operating system. Does the monitor come on
(come out of standby) when the PC starts does anything show on the monitor.

No

A new developement. Dad called and said the computer started! He has not
moved the computer for a couple weeks but I told him to take off the side and
make sure everything was plugged in. He did that (nothing was loose) and
hooked up all the cables. When he tried it it took off. Before unplugging
the cables he checked and they all were plugged in.
Initially I thought that the latest updates might have caused something.
Not knowing what they were I was hoping someone else might have run across
it.
I got no explanation for it. Thanks for looking.
