Hi there people!

Do I need to have Microsoft's Service Pack 1 installed on
my computer before I install Service Pack 2? (When it is
available that is...)

Windows XP Professional

Since the yet-to-be-developed SP2 won't be released until late
this year, no one knows what the requirements will be to install it.

You will need to install SP1 or SP1a to install updates which are
classed as SP2 in the title. Service packages usually consolidate
the individual updates into a single download or CD. One would
expect that the service pack would have the same requirements as the
individual component updates released during the interval between
services packs.
