Hi,
Two critical updates were offered by MS on Wednesday,
April 16th, 2003 as Automatic Updates for our Windows XP
Home Edition. This OS was installed OEM in March
of '02. We have kept up with all updates. After
installing the last two, our Dell 8200 (1.8Ghz)has slowed
down tremendously. Program initialization takes three or
four times as long to complete ... computer now acts like
an old 166Mhz. Anyone having the same problem? What can
be done to speed things up once again. We ran full
maintenance which did not help.

Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall=20
Windows XP Hoxfix (SP2) Q811493. Apparently, this
particular Hoxfix is troublesome with your antivirus software.
Microsoft is reportedly looking into this issue.
