i bought windows xp upgrade and did a full install of win
xp.i downloaded the drivers for my geforce 4200 and
installed .now when i try to run games ,that are graphics
intense,my computer restarts.i rolled back my driver to
the one windows loaded and i get really low performance.i
think what is happened is when i load the upgraded driver
some remanants of the old driver remain and is
conflicting with the new driver.how can i make sure all
of the old driver is deleted and load the new
driver.every time i try to restart the computer with no
driver and install the new one windows loads its own.

Always wise to do a clean install instead of an upgrade, it will save you
the headaches!

the thing is i did a full install of xp i formated and
just installed xp

Sounds like your vid card driver is not installed properly. Are you using
the latest Nvidia driver package? Here is the link:
